I went and unhooked the throttle spring by the cables and now the throttle returns very slowly. Lubed all the shafts and not any better. Checked the crusie control friction adjustment and there is no problem there. This is with the bike NOT running as itis down waiting for parts after being hit on the freeway on the 5th of may 2006. The parts were shipped from university motors yesterday :D :D If you need parts this is the way to go :)

I have yet to see or hear of one with the spring removed that had a slow return, unless something else was at fault. You have a constriction somewhere, cable routing or grip problem that once solved will give you better throttle action than ever before. You've found a symptom, now find the reason.
