Hello, Now that we are getting into later sunrises I have found that the low beam lights are a bit low.

I can see about 60ft out.The question is 'what is the acceptable height @ what distance ?' I uderstand

that there is a loaded/unloaded measurement. If I backup from a garage(how many feet ?) where

should the lights be hitting(how high ?) This would be on the center stand. Thanks for your help.Sliick2

Warchild will probably put a finer point on it, but my take is that there isn't a prescribed height because it will vary with load so much. My process is to be 20 or so feet back from a wall in the garage or if you have a level driveway to use the door. No centerstand! Sit on the bike with my normal loading, feet out, like at a stop light. You want it as close to actual riding conditions as possible.

Measure with a tape where the centerline of the headlight bulbs is.

That's my height.

Then transfer that height to the wall or garage door. Now twist the adjusters so that the meat of the light is shining below that line. At 20 or so feet I'd say the center part of the bright area would probably be an inch or two below the line....with a bit of the bright spot on the line.

I put a towel over one light and align the other. It makes it easier to align the two.

Thanks so much ! That is exactly the info I was looking for ! I'm sure this will help others as well. :D

I used a very dark street and lined the lights up just w/ a visual trying to get visiblity out as far as possible knowing that if they are too high, it would be obtrusive to others. After that, cruised and noticed they were a little too high when approaching freeway signs on the side of the road reflecting the light. I believe after that, I was flashed once by opposing traffic, so one more small adjustment did it. I want to see those critters as soon as possible. Lots of deer around Rockport.
