My son's 5th grade team won first place in the state competition, so now we're off to the "Global's" in Knoxville next month. For the team of 7 kids, a total of 4 parents and one sibling, it's going to cost us roughly $15,000. At first I thought, to hell with Knoxville, let's go to Hawaii. But, this is an experience of a life time, so we'll give it to them.

Now we are going to focus on fund raising. Anyone got any ideas on how to raise a few thousand dollars in a month? Let me re-phrase, something legitimate for 5th graders? Sorry, forgot who I was asking for a minute.

This is a great honor for his team. At the regionals, they came in 3rd out of 15 teams. At state, they were first out of 13. At globals, there are 900 teams (8,000 kids), but only about 60 or so in his category and challenge.

Scott,

PM me your mailing address and I'll send along a donation. Always nice to see kids involved in something productive.

My Grand-Daughter's school has done "Walk-a-Thon/Ride (bicycle)-a-Thon"s and "Read-a-Thon"s to raise $$.
