I bought mine with my windshield and they were cheaper. I wouldn't be without them. I have some pretty decent hits on them after 17K and I am glad I don't have those hits on the headlights. Last time I priced the headlight assembly, it was steep.

Orangevale has a crack in one of his headlight covers, presumably from a rock impact. Sure beats a broken housing ($$$).

Yep, worth the money. My '04 has lots of pits in the headlight lenses from road debris. I keep polishing them out, but you can tell a difference. I bought the protectors for the '06. Easier and better protection. Beats buying a whole new headlight fairing if you crack one.

I've been running them since about 2003 on my FJR. No complaints. I had something similar on my 84 GL1200A.

With the amount of trash and gravel on the roads (gravel haulers abound), I've had 3 car/truck windshields replaced in under 10 years. I've not had that problem with my bikes. I credit the light armor.
