My only experience/knowledge with these is the Comagination model I have on an ST 1100. I'm quite happy with it and have become a modulator convert. Besides Comagination, I am aware of Diamond and Kissan as alternatives.

Any opinions on these three or others is appreciated. The bike is an '05 that I just bought.

Thanks,

Jack.

Diamond requires that you cut and hack wires, so forget that.

I have the Comagination - works well enough. I have the sensor tucked in to the right slot for the windshield guide.

I had a Kissan on the old C10. The 'better' Kissan has the advantage of dynamically settable sensitivity for the photocell - 8 levels.

Disagree on the Diamond Star

I use the Signal Dynamincs Diamond Star on my '05. After researching, I consider it the most fully featured.

Pros

-Mode Switch - Off, On/Lo+Hi, On/Hi Only

----Having the ability to switch it off is a big deal when you are riding in a group.

-Horn Activation - It works like a flash to pass + beeps the horn

-Does not require you to get near the headlight bulbs

Cons

-It looks complicated to install, but it really isn't if you are not electrically challenged.

I'd have to say that the Kisan is the most popular but lacks these features.

My 2 cents...

By the way, search is your friend... I think there are at least 5 threads on headlight modulators...

I installed the Kissan on my 05, very easy to install, doing a great jobs. The only things is that some people stop me to let me know that my headlights are blinking

Kissan on my '05 works pretty well. Easy as heck to to install but I wish I had the ability to use Hi beams during the day sometimes instead of the modulator alone.

Only had one person yell at me but he was an a$$hat driving like an ***** and I think he was worried at first that a cop had busted him.

I have the Kissan on my '06. I too dislike not being able to hit the high beams without the modulator. I figured out that you can put a switch in the line from the photocell or cap the photocell altogether to overide it. I LOVE the modulator in Metro traffic.

+1 on the Kissan. Great products. Easy installations. Excellent customer focus (they talked to me at length many different times even when told up front I was only doing research and not ready to purchase yet).

If you want to use the highs in the day, block the light sensor with your hand or with a piece of tape.

Not to hijack the thread and stray too far off-course, but do any of you have experience with the tailight modulator and/or reccomend it? Just thinking it would be nice to have front and rear from same manufacturer.

My Comagination installed easily and works fine. Modulates the high beam. I think its cheaper than the others which explains why I bought it. I think it was $75.

I'd recommend it and use one on my next bike.

Steve
