For any of you guys heading to Mt. Cheaha in the near future you may want to be careful. If you head up to the top of the mountain on 281 and then back down the backside on Cheaha Rd they are dooing some resurfacing all the way down Cheaha Rd. Lots of loose gravel and grooves in the road. Take it SLOW! Hopefully they will finish it soon but I've been up there twice in the last month and it is still going on. :clapping:

Confirm. Loose gravel and furrows. It'd be easier to ride though a freshly-plowed field.

It was actually an artical in the Bham news today about the "poor" condition of the road and how unfriendly it was to cyclist and motorcyclists.

DOT spokesman said they will look into the complaints but they have no plans to re-surface the road.

story is here
