Not sure about that one on ebay but Smitty was selling precut blankies on here LY (and Ebay as well fo something like $25 shipped if I remember correctly)...got one and it worked as advertised...would highly recommend it if he is selling them again TY.

BTW Smitty...if you see this...any idea where I can get some of that stuff? I have a hitch haul on my WRX and wife's Mazda and the hot exhaust hits the cargo bag causing it to melt. I used your FJR blanket on the last trip as an emergency stop and it worked great...problem was it couldn't cover the underside so I still had problems. I am looking to build a protective shield using thin plywood and some of that stuff you used for our FJR blankies.

Thanks db... guess my search skills need some work.

This guy also sells an exhaust pipe guard which could be handy, at least on the left side where I seem to leave bits of melted heel.

I recently met a forum member at the local UJM. I think he is the one who makes the stuff on the Ebay store. A very nice guy but he doesn't post often. I don't have any if his products so I can't speak for them. That rear fender extender looks interesting.

You can get that material from www.aircraftspruce.com.

09-27400 INSULATOR, ONE-PLY 4'X6' SHEET

Mine is no where near as fancy looking, but it works wonderfully in keeping the heat down in the summer.

Update: I bought and installed this guy's kit. It is a nice fit and comes with detailed instructions. Took about 15 minutes to do. It's a good deal for 30-something bucks.

Also, if you look at his pictures it looks like there's a large square "hole" in the blanket around the fuel line. Actually he's got that area covered too but has the blanket segmented into 1 inch strips in that area to allow better fit around the tubing.

After months of trying to give away some insulation material I had left over from making my own, I finally tossed it in the trash. Did I mention I offered it for free to anyone wanting to come get it? And it was FREE!
