I guess the title and descripition says it all. where is the best place to buy them?

the vibration is putting my throttle hand to sleep. will these heavier bar ends help prevent that ?

Yes I did the TBS and it helped with most of the vibration . but I'm still getting enough to put my hand to sleep on longer rides.

Heavy bar end weights better help some. Mine just came from FJRGoodies.com yesterday. Hope it attenuates the buzz a bit. 11K miles on the bike now, too. Think I'll sync it again.

I have risers, audiovox and try not to wear heavy jackets over my shoulders. I am a lot more comfortable wearing my mesh armour than the heavy leathers.

I found out that I have insipient carpal tunnel and bursitis, so I don't think my problem will ever completely go away. But I can manage it. I have to be careful how and how hard I grip the throttle. And take hand breaks. I had the same problems on two Harleys, although not as bad. Course I was younger then...2 years ago...

When the problem was the worst, I got a wrist brace from my doc and wore it as much as possible.

I just ride left handed a lot on the big slab with the cc on and don't worry about it too much. I'm doing a LOT better than I was before.

Didn't hurt at all going through the Dragon. But after I got to the top of the Cherhola Skyway, my knee and wrist were killing me. No cruise or highway pegs there. Ahh, but it hurt SOOooOOoo good!

Ride more, keyboard less. You'll be fine.

Probably not (they didn't help a bit on my bike) but I think they will make excellant "sliders".

They did make a big difference for me. In fact, between a good TBS and these Top Gun Bar end weights from FJRGoodies.com, they have essentially removed all traces of vibration on my '03, save for a slight tingling at the 4100 RPM mark (which is where we tend to see vibes on this platform):

The above are the 1st-generation Top Gun weights; the newer, 2nd-generation Top Gun versions have two embossed lines close to the end of the weight... looks pretty scha-weeeeet!

Yep, I just installed mine. SCHAWEEEEET! Now those be some MANLY WEIGHTS! Sliders is right! Makes the Yammie pussified weights look like washers or just end caps, not WEIGHTS!

Now to go for a test ride. 'Course I still have that bad front tire, so I ain't gonna see THAT much difference.

Hope they don't cause my handlebars to sag! :D

Here is some good advice about your carpal tunnel you have with your hand(s). I have had carpal tunnel in my right hand that I could hardly ride my bike for more than 20 minutes without going to sleep and have to bang them on the gas tank to wake them up. I went and had all the test done and than i had surgery on my right hand. It took me eight weeks before it was competly healed and what a relief. Now I ride and it does not bothrer me one little bit no pain ,no going to sleep just absoutely great. I have carpal tunnel a little bit in the left but not enough to warrant surgery. you may want to try this as a step in the right direction for helping your hands for riding. You must consult your doctor and have him do all the test and you two can make the decision good luck weekend rider  :assasin:

what the heck give it a try

I believe that no one item will appreciably reduce the vibes problem-one must take a many pronged approach. Right grips, heavy ends, tuning, gloves, all have a part in reducing the vibrations. I have all the above. They're still there. reduced, but not eliminated. I have risers, which exacerbate the problem IMHO. I have noticed that weather influences the degree of shake, with hot, humid weather making it worse. My D&D exhaust made it worse. A PCIII is in the future, and may well help, but nothing will eliminate them entirely, it's just a matter of reducing them to a level tolerable to you. My twins had the shakes, but at a different frequency, and a different level of irritation. Inline 4's have always had an irritating buzz, such is life with motorcycles. One would think that with two counterbalancers busily at work, that wouldn't be the case. But it is what it is.

It doesn't seem mine helped a lot, but I put them on relatively quickly, so wouldn't know the difference unless riding with them off. One way or another, they look good and may offer some protection for the bike in a fall.

I went for a short ride last night with my new FJRGoodies Top Gun Bar Ends. I could certainly tell a difference, but like I said, I have a defective front tire. The vibrations from the tire overwhelm the bars for sure. However, even at low speed, I could tell that the bars were "calmer" (can I say that?).

Still wish someone could make a rubber spacer or a resilient plastic riser to dampen the vibes even more. Oh well, it ain't THAT bad, anyway!

Thanks for all the replies. :coolio: i think I'll try them and see what happens. Never thought about carpal tunnel that may be the problem also.

I never thought about carpal tunner, either. Until my physician went through the exam process and found it. MIne's not bad, but I'm certainly more careful with my hand and wrist position.

Can't wait to get a smooth tire and see what it feels like. Maybe the bar ends just make me THINK the vibes are reduced. Does seem to be less "noise" on there, though.

I put bar ends on my bike and didn't really notice any difference. I then synched the throttlebodies, installed the PClll and installed iridium plugs all at the same time and it ran as smooth as silk throughout the rev range. Tho I don't know if the plugs contributed at all but the TBS and PClll did I'm sure.

Curious about the pc III. Did you dyno the bike for a custom map? or some other map. i put a PCIII on my 2000 cbr 929 and it made a big difference in the throttle response. without the PCIII on the 929 the throttle was very touchy, jerky for a lack of a better term. The PCIII smoothed it right out with a map from a form member. Thinking it might help the FJR in the same manner.
