keeriste man - you're in Clovis - those will get you through winter even without the hand guards. (How's Buchannan doing in football this year?)
I have these gloves - bought them on sale at Cycle Gear. I like them a lot. They actually have a bit of stretchy feel to the gauntlets. They are relatively warm - but I've ridden with them on through the desert and the weren't too bad. They have been plenty warm down to the high 30's with hand guards. I haven't had them long enough to tell you how comfortable for how long at anything lower than that.
They are pretty good gloves. I wish they had put the seams outside instead of inside, but other than that they are pretty good.
Pricey - but OK if you are getting them on a sale price.

I have Held's Akira model. Appears to be the same as your linky, but with carbon fiber knuckles. Anywho, muy comfy, good in the heat, could be a bit better in the cold, but no worries. I loves 'em!

I have those gloves and really like them...only bitch is that they seem to run a little small for my hands...
If I were to do it again I'd order a size larger than I did this time. They've stretched out now and are fine, but the first 1000 or 1500 miles were a little tight (the fingers seemed short).

Bob, I have a pair of the Held Steve's and they seem like a good glove. Though in comparison to my Racer High End glove (for $25.00 more and were a replacement to the Steve) are not nearly as substantial in quality and safety features. Between the 2, I would say the Steve will be better in cooler temps, but when its freezing outside you will need something more to keep your hands warm.

) with the Held Phantom glove, which is continually rated as the #1 glove by UK RiDE and German Motorrad magazines. At $250 to play though, they better be! Had these been available when I wanted them, I would have been all over them. :dribble:

also have the Racer high-end. A great glove, but sized a smidge smaller than others wrt finger length (gloves a little shorter in the fingers than other gloves I have) Really like them.

I've used a pair of Steve gloves for over 15,000 miles and am really happy with the fit and feel. I'd got caught in a hail storm in NM last year on a 800+ mile day and didn't feel like stopping in it to change to my waterproof gloves so I kept on riding. They dried out in a few hours (with the help of my heated grips) and look and work as good as new. Good model to choose in my opinion.

The Held Steve gloves were the first gloves I had. Think that they are quite comfortable and they kept my hands pretty warm in not so cold days of riding. However, coming home from Tucson to Sierra Vista in the high desert in mid November my hands got cold. Not sure what the temp was, but I had the grip warmers on high and that took care of everything but the thumb. Now I have the Steve gloves as a spare and I use the Held Galaxy gloves. I like their level of protection much better.
