:yahoo: just got home from 4 day trip to hells canyon,wallawa lake,great weather,about 75 for highs and 45 for lows,sunshine all the way.

portland to prineville,oregon

prineville baker city,oregon

baker city to hells canyon dam in Idaho

hells canyon to penelton,oregon

penelton to mt vernon ,oregon

back to prineville,then home to portland.

avg mpg 48

avg premium gas ,$2.87 to $3.09

lots of bikes on road, many were sport touring bikes,lots of fjrs

spectaculer scenery.

Hells Canyon is definitely top notch. Be sure to do Rattlesnake Mountain heading back into Washington. It's 20+ miles of twisties to die for.

That whole area is a hoot. Wallawa Lake Park is wonderful! The forest road through Hells Canyon is mouthwatering. Great times.
