I've not tried this myself, but a biker told me the other day that he just puts his helmet in the dishwasher and runs it. Without the pasta coated dishes. No heated drying...top rack... shield removed.

Glad my liner comes out...

+1 on the used dryer sheet to keep it smelling April fresh

I find by wearing one of these, it absorbs any sweat, not the liner.

I wash it in the sink by hand once or twice a month, or after a real long/hot ride

Man this thread is taking off with some good stuff! How about this, Luke , Doug Hines or wild Bill could fabricate some can brackets(solid billet powdercoated to helmet color) for each side of the helmet. Tube to the top vent. One can FDS, one can RAID. Reach up for a "spritz" as needed. Brackets could double as sliders. I see farkle of the year coming! Got to go , have a class tonight just tuned in for a minute. Have at it!! check ya"ll later

Available at most Ace Hardware stores:

Works great, packs well, too. No after odor or fragrances.

I have put my off road helmet thru the dish washer several times, kind of the lazy mans method, but this only works if you don't have electronics in the helmet, then you will have to remove and wash by hand.

I stay away from spray type freshners, the dye and or fragerance may cause skin irritation.
