While at Fast Joy Ride's 60th birthday party and after he opened his instructions for male DEPENDS and the "woody' someone whittled him (no kidding here), we all came to the conclusion that we will have to de-power his old FJR somehow. :construction:

Can we take one, possibly two, spark plugs out and somehow turn the fuel off to those two cylinders? If so, which cylinders should we chose so as to avoid a 'Hardley Drivable' style idle etc.? :bleh:

:clapping: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dave!! :fans:

Don't take the plugs out, just pull the wires. Removing the plugs removes the compression load on the dead cylinders, freeing up power from the other cylinders. :p

Unplugging the injectors on those cylinders ought to do the trick.

Now, which ones . . . .

I'm just guessing here, but I think it might be appropriate to just fire the odd ones, so disable 2 and 4.

I think it needs to be faster. When you are that old you don't have much time left so you need to go faster :yahoo: :clapping:

Have a great day old man. Keep it up and you will catch the rest of us

'Ap-py Birf-day deer Da-ave...

Now then, there's no need to unplug any of the spark plug or injector wires, simply install the restrictor plate and ECU from the French FJRs, voila!

And Dave....60 isn't "old"...except to some of the whippersnappers who frequent this site. Just yell at them to get off your lawn!

You know, I'm starting to sympathize with George Clooney and the other male *** symbols of the world - it is such a burden being so virile at every age and being such an object of envy by the less fortunate of your "friends"...

OK now that little fantasy moment is over we return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

I told Glen (Cowcop) that despite his thoughtful suggestion, I was much more likely to put a nitrous kit or a turbo in big Blue than to detune it! (FJRay and RogDeb are my heroes)

Thanks for the kind wishes all - I'm actually hanging on to 59 for a few more days, but Sylvia figured her surprise party had a much better chance of coming off a week early - and it sure did.

I'm off to the Monashee Mountains tomorrow morning for 3 days of can't-be-beat snowmobiling with my kid brother and two other great friends - I am blessed and life is good - very good.

My head doesn't acknowledge my chronological age you know, it knows we're still in our early 20's!

Of course! Mental age vs. chronological....it's really no problem....at least until your mind writes a check your body can't cash!

Orrrrr.....when your brain gives a command, like, "Jump!" Then your body laughs out loud and shakes your head. ;)

Enjoy it all, Dave, attack life with great vigor and make the youngsters step back in awe and wonder. Their turn will come!
