Just got a quote on an '09, 14,586 OTD, no extras of any kind. After doing a lot of searching on this site, doesn't sound like a decent price at all?

You can't compare OTD because license, title and taxes are different everywhere. You need to compare with everything but license, title and tax (the stuff the dealer pays the govt.). I just bought my '09 a week ago and paid $12,900 plus license, title and tax ($13,068 OTD - no sales tax here). I think I saw someone else post at $12,600 and that's what I used to leverage my dealer.

You can do the Fly & Buy at D&H cycle in Alabama if you willing to ride it home or have it transported. Still the best deal around. Bought my 08 last year and drove it home to Mass.

They will come pick you up at the airport in Huntsville and drive you to the dealership, sign the paper go thru the prep and leave. About a 4 to 5 hour ordeal. Saved over 2K and my dealer at home wouldn't budge on sticker price. The way i look at is i got a paid vacation to go and pick up the bike. :yahoo:

I bought my '07 in ILLinois off an ebay listing from a dealer looking to clear his floor before the '08's came in. AE model brand new saved almost 3K. For a weekend ride back and forth from MA

Here's the breakdown on my deal:

2009 FJR A,

$12,800 OTD (dealer prep, destination, 6% sales tax, title fee)

+ $389.00 (4yr Y.E.S.) =

$13,189.00.

Macomb Powersports, Chesterfield, MI

I'll contact them, see what they can do. I'm about 200 miles from them, so I can drive there. Anyone have a link to their web site?

I didn't buy my FJR there, but did get my YES warranty from them. Great people!

There are quite a few GOOD gently used FJR's for sale on the forum now. Help someone who's struggling in this economy and get a deal at the same time.

Can't really consider that since I'm trying to do a trade. I've had my Rune for sale for 8 weeks, not even close to getting it sold.

Rune huh?! I've only ever seen one of those in the flesh once.

Anyway, I hear what your saying, my 05 Mean Streak has been for sale since last June. I've dropped the price on it over $1500 since then (and its $500 below book value - I've been keeping pace with the deprecation/market value of the pricing). Here it is getting into prime bike selling season and I' haven't had a single call on it since Feb (and even that one, some guy wanted to trade me a piece of crap Cutlass for it...)

From the title, I though this was going to be some words of wisdom.

Too much to expect from this group...

I just bought my 2009: $12,699.00 + $5.00 NYS tire fee + $6.00 NYS inspection + $888.93 NYS tax = $13,598.93 - I thought it was a pretty good deal. I hate paying a set up fee and freight. I consider them part of the the dealers cost and they should included in the sell price.

You lucky bastages. Back in the day, my 05 was sticker price of $13,500 plus tax and license. Also got screwed on the Y.E.S. But it's been worth it all. Best buy ever. :D

According to info on the cyclebuy.com freight is extra (you have to pay) but setup (assembly) is included in the invoice price and you shouldn't be charged extra for it.
