Just wonderin...

Do any of you PA riders have a torque wrench that goes up to 85 ft/lbs? I need to install a new stem nut for a RAM mount, but don't have a wrench that goes that high and hate to buy one for one job. Got the sockets.

If someone does, I'll see if I can ride out to your place some Saturday and made the swap there.

Thanks.

I've got one.

You would need to ride to NE Ohio to use it, Youngstown area.

Tom

I put my 75#'er on it, tightened till it clicked and then gave 'er another tug for good measure. You're more than welcome to it. Or, check with your local bike shop. If you have a relationship with them, they should lend it out for a few minutes.

I do, but I'm in Montreal, will cost you more in transport than the torque itself.....

Let me know if you want it !

If you don't get any PA takers I live close to the border, you're welcome to come and use mine. If the weathers good and the time is right I might even come to you :)

Thanks all! I really appreciate the offers and I'll probably take one of you up on it. I like the riding in both directions. :D

Snow this weekend, and I just found out about work commitments for the next couple, so I'll PM about a future date -- unless the shop will do it when I go for a new inspection sticker.

Randy -- the guy who runs the shop I'm friendliest with just had a hip replacement, or I'd have gone to him to bum it for a bit. I thought about doing that with my 75 #'er too, but it's a beam style, and I don't know if I trust it at that end of the scale.

Thanks again for the offers of help. This is a great place.

Buy one. You'll need it again. And again. And again. Rear axle nut-90Lbs. 1/2" drive clicker runs from about 25lbs to 110-120 lbs.

Squeezer, man I'm sorry I missed your original post. I've been "off forum" a few days. Anyway, I've got your wrench: a 1/2" drive for up to 150# clicker. I'm in Bellwood, north of Altoona. I know you go by here every day. If your still in need respond here and I'll give you info to reach me. I also have the 36MM socket for the stem nut.

SLK50, that would have perfect. But rad's comment made me think... "When the heck did I stop using any excuse to buy a new tool as an excuse to buy a new tool?" It's got me worried about my testosterone levels. I picked one up pretty cheap on-line and put the stem nut on this morning.

Thanks again to everyone.

And, yeah, I do go right by Bellwood every day. Sometimes right through it. One of the commutes home I love is cutting through Bellwood on the way to Skelp Mountain Road, crossing the ridge and then roaming through the Sinking Valley area to 453.
