Hi I am Todd from Acworth, GA. I have been riding since I was 13 years old and now I am in my early 50s. I try to ride every weekend with friends. Have had numerous dirt and street bikes over the years. I am now the owner of a 2006 FJR1300 with 22k on the clock. This is the first "heavy" bike I have owned. My previous bike though was the little brother to the FJR. I had a 1987 FJ1200.
I purchased the FJR1300 from the original owner in Jacksonville, FL on Labor Day weekend 2023 and rode her home to Georgia. This bike is a dream to ride. Extremely comfortable and powerful.

I started in dirt bikes as well.
I just picked up my first heavy too.

I love the fjr. Surprisingly easy to ride at slow speed.
 
Welcome from So. Cal! Your bike is in beautiful shape! Enjoy riding it. I also ride a 2006 with low miles on it.

You might want to check if the recalls were done on your bike. There were a couple of them; ignition key, ground spider, and a service bulletin for the ECU altitude sickness issue, and the current MPG readout on the instrument cluster. Yamaha likely won’t fix them now but it is good for you to be aware.
 
Yes it did. One of the cases is missing the lock cylinder. Do you know where I can source one?
Yamaha sells them, but I think in lots of three cylinders with keys but you willend out needing a separate key unless you re-key. If you can find a lock cylinder on eBay or from a forum inmate, lock "wafers" can be changed around or replaced to re-key to your ignition key. If you don't have the right numbers of each of the three (I think) different wafers, one or more may be left out or filed down. Locksmith can do it for you if you dont want to DIY.
