Just got back from refreshing 2006 KrZy8 forks and Penske.

$661.21 cents!

So, at 1 refresh every 365 days (20k+ miles for me) that's $1.81 per day?

Wow.

As I near retirement I start thinking about these things you know?

Do you really need to do it that frequently?

The cost seems reasonable (if you've had the pleasure of doing the job yourself ... what a mess).

I would have thought that you might get away with every other year.

In vinyl Hi Fi we replace phono cartridges every 1000 hours, a $1.81/hr will get you a nice one, but won't touch the most highly regarded. $1.81/day seems reasonable.

Less than a 1/2 dozen cigarettes. Or a good Cuban Cig.

You can't take it with you.

...or DIY, and $100 in parts and the annual fork/shock refresh isn't too bad!
JS'NS!

Hey!

We're not all bloody mechanical engineers and tool wizards like you, and Panman, .....and that other Geezer who eats pie like a starving Labrador.

Carver can barely open a can of tuna.

FJRs are too expensive to maintain.

That's why I've migrated to BMW. No maintenance costs, and legendary reliability.

Last I heard you were riding a Hondapotamus. If you can afford to migrate to BMW then you can afford the buck eighty one a day for maintenance of an FJR's suspension.

I think the only thing OM rides anymore is the keyboard. You never see him anymore and he is Really Old. :) :) :) :)

Never met him, but noticed his name was "OLD" Michael several years ago. Is he now OLDER or OLDEST, or maybe just ANCIENT?

Yeah, that's the ticket: Ancient Michael.

dcarver, your Candy Butt averages $1.81 per day for suspension maintenance? That also works out to be $1.81 per mile, right?

No maintenance costs, and legendary reliability??? Really?

BMW must be selling a special North America model only, if only they would make it available to the rest of the world.

They haven't been the same since the parent company became the Beijing Motoren Werke.

He's not that old, just acts that way.

Used to ride everywhere and take great pictures. Found a girl, bought a hondapotamus, got a haircut. Now he just sits on the porch and watches the big dogs run. So I heard, JSNS.

2007 fjr, just found my front fork is leaking as the left disk is dark with a lot brake dust and oil. I went out for a short ride today and noticed the front brakes were not as stoppy as normal. Looks like the left fork is leaking.

I don't think I want to tackle changes these myself. Any recommendations in Norfolk, va or is that a place I can mail them too?

Any fork repair vendors you would recommend?

Thanks
