One barely used reflector being mailed to OrangvaleFJR from my storage closet. People can tease him at WFO :D when he buys me a drink and/or pours me a single malt scotch.

I'd try cutting the glue with some dental floss or fishing line if a heat gun isn't readily available. It worked for my tuning fork emblems
Cool! When you say emblems, do you mean both sides of tank and the one on the front fairing? Do they come off cleanly?
Yes, all of the above. Needed the space for custom badging. I was able to save the originals for replacement if I sell it before crashing.

On day two of FJR ownership, I grossly underestimated the width while threading it into the garage past my Suzuki XL7 SUV. As any good Yami will do, it reached out with the bag reflector and scraped the living $hit out of the Suzuki. Only thing missing was my MX helmet and a good dirt booger.

But the moral of the story is that I already loved my FJR sooo much, that I was glad it was not scratched and really didn't care about the $200 scratch down the side of the Suzuki. I've since grown attached to little reflector thingies, even if they are a bit ugly. I think mine are especially brand-aggressive!

:D

Thats' just a great story.

okay...I decided to try taking them off...and now that they are off, when Ignacio's gets here I'm putting them back on. Why?

Oral B dental floss breaks too easily. 4lb test fly rod leader is too weak too. I had to go for the 30lb test ocean line from my shore rod. On one side, I suppose I was too aggressively pulling toward the case and scratched it...only under where the reflector goes. So, to cover the scrathes on the one side, I have to put the reflector back on.

**** :axed:

:blushing: :bye2:  :russian:

I tell you this to try to prevent others from making the same mistake. I used the hair dryer...helped...make sure to pull straight toward the direction you are moving the line. My second side came out fine...

I like that. You gave me some ideas. I hope I don't screw 'em up.

just remember, don't try to get close to the paint when doing this. Cutting the glue is easier, and paint scratches less if you just pull in the direction you are cutting.

Goo gone and a rag will take care of the rest

Gee, if I had only known...When I took delivery of my 04...they asked me if I wanted the bag reflectors mounted & I said no (even though they are supposed to be on by law in Ontario) so I have a set new with the original glue/sticky back on them sitting on one of my tool boxes
