Glad your going to be Ok. Is it too soon to tell if there were any witneses? I'm glad you weren't a speedbump out there. Hope the FJR is back in action soon. TJ

Glad to hear you are okay. The ****** was probably drunk and doesn't even know he took you out. My worst fear is going down in traffic, then getting creamed as soon as I realize I survived the crash.

No hijacking intended here, but to make mention of Toecutters worst fear, I have this to offer: Though I cannot for obvious reasons give specific names or locations, etc. as the case is still in open litigation. I can tell you all that I manage civil litigation cases filed against the state of Mississippi. One case in particular, involves a motorcycle accident. A married couple had attended a HOG rally in one our great neighboring states. This couple and a select few friends were traveling back home, after dark, during heavy rain conditions. Now I do not recall the specific Harley model at the moment, but I do recall that the owner/driver/husband was operating w/his wife as passenger. The bike was brand new and the new owner had installed a set of ape hangers. I have no idea of this man's level of experience--undoubtably very little--in light of the fact he installed ape hangers--anyway, they pulled off the interstate under a overpass, again I cant remember why or for how long, but as they got ready to leave and pull back out onto the interstate, the back wheel allegedly got caught in a narrow groove between the paved asphalt shoulder and the concrete travel lane. The husband/operator apparently panicked, somehow twisted the throttle, the rear of the bike kicked out and basically highsided his passenger/wife, flinging her out into the travel lane (the inside fast lane). She never had a chance to even get herself up, when she was ran over by an approaching vehicle, the car driver said he never saw her until to late due to several factors including night hours, rain and the fact she was wearing dark clothing. A tragic accident indeed. Be careful out there, tragic things happen very quickly sometimes.

Glad to hear you made it out with your life, and the bike in not too bad of shape.

Would you mind telling what gear you have, nice to know what works and what does not!!!

Todd

My helmet is a SHOEI X- eleven, The jacket is a Joe Rocket Ballistic Series, the gloves are also Joe Rocket, Boots are combat style. Pants are/were Levis but that is going to change real fast.

As a side note the passenger pegs extenders I installed for the wife saved the Staintune muffler on the left side.

I'm glad you're well enough to complain about all this! Interesting peg extender factoid...which brand were they?

A St. Helens man was killed Friday morning when a motorist failed to stop for a traffic signal on U.S. 30 just north of the St. Johns Bridge.

Thomas Neill, 53, who was driving a motorcycle, had stopped behind a vehicle and was waiting for traffic coming off the bridge when another motorist slammed into the motorcycle and sent Neill into the vehicle in front of him. Neill was killed instantly, according to Portland police.

The accident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Barry Busse at 503-823-2103.
