hit and run

Well it happened. I was on my way home fridat the 5th and some MORON ran into me knocking me and the bike on to the left side. I was only going 45 to 50 mph at the time. I spent the night at the hospital with no serious problems other that road rash on my left forearm where the sleeve of my jacket slid up my arm and a very sore left hip My gear did its job as designed. The freeways here are groved and close up look like mini saw blade edges.

Any way i went a got the bike out of the tow lot for a lot of money.( but that's another story ) The damage does not look too bad, The left engine case, lower fairing, mid faring windshield and support arms and "W" brace for the windshield. That is all i see until the insurance adjuster gets here and i can remove the faring parts to see under better.

I was to go on ride sunday but so much for that.

That really sucks Chief... glad to hear you are healing, great to hear your gear worked to lessen the damage, and hope the bike is repairable. If not, take the money and get you a brand new one.

Did you have any indication before the ***** hit you? Was it heavy traffic? Any witnesses?

run down by an at fault cager and he got away clean! i would be outraged. if they caught him you may not have received much satisfaction. i was rearended on saturday and picked up the police report today. the guy was ticketed for "following too close" i'm taking solice in the fact that i know the risks and i choose to ride. i can't even explain that statement but i suspect that right now you understand it well.

you and me both got off extremly lucky this weekend. perhaps there are still roads we are meant to ride.

be good to yourself while you're healing, you deserve it.
