My schedule is wack so meeting up to ride with friends is a real challenge. Saturday we lucked out and my wife and I rode over to Georgia and met GeorgiaRoller and his wife for a day of riding. As usual, GR did the routing since he's far more familiar with the good roads over there.
Here's a grainy cell phone shot: Getting ready to leave the house (aka waiting patiently for Mrs. earthrooster). I got myself a cupholder for Father's Day and tested it. Works great! Once we got to the twisties (and my drink was gone) I stowed it in the topcase.
Though GeorgiaRoller and I both usually take a lot of photos this day was more about riding. Neither GeorgiaRoller nor I brought our "real" cameras but we did take a few photos with our cell phones. There are even a couple of shots my wife took from the pillion seat with our little CoolPix point and shoot.
We met up with Mr and Mrs GR in Acworth, GA and hit the roads.
Just as we were getting the tires warmed up I hit 10,000 miles on my bike. Not bad considering I didn't ride it for something like 6 months over the winter
That isn't a bad shot considering the amount of bugs on my shield...
Around 12:45 we stopped at Frogtown Cellars for lunch
Great sadwiches!
A "local" begging... he decided StreetBetty was the weak link.
Afterward we spent the rest of the day riding and making a few scenic stretch stops.
We split up around 6:30 or 7pm and headed toward our respective homes. The missus and I stopped in Rome for dinner then made our way home. As luck would have it we happened to ride through Cedartown and Centre, AL just as they started their fireworks show over the lake. The missus was thrilled. I was thrilled that she was satisfied to watch from the seat and didn't make me pull over with everyone else in the county.
Over the course of the day GR rode about 505 miles and I rode about 550. My wife and I left the house about 6:15 and got home about 10:45pm.
Looking forward to the next one!
