Did a round trip to Hillister today, Man the weather there is nice, after riding through the valley heat, it sure is nice when you hit Monterey county on up in to Hollister. It was around 400 mile round trip . the new Micheline pilots did fine.

Next ride will loop around to hwy 1 back to Moro bay.

I hit the coast this weekend too. Apparently, the valley was cooler than usual for this time of year, but the coast was even nicer!

Re the Hollister Rally: Does it live up to the hype? Johnny and Chino characters? Just wondering. Never been to this one.

I rode past Hollister on my way to the coast that weekend. Didn't go into town but saw a lot of bikes and way too many cops. Would have been a good time to rob a bank somewhere else :D

Also hit Hollister this weekend.

Started in Bakersfield, I-5 North to Coalinga, then 198 West (nice) to 25 North (real nice) to Hollister, across to the Monterey area and South on the 1 (extremely nice) across to 58 West (real nice, but hot), back to Bakersfield.

Lots of wildlife along the way.

198: coyote.

25: wild turkeys

1: California Condors (just South of Big Sur on a cliff not 10' off the road), a gal laying by the side of the road, repacking after it looked like she'd been kicked out of a car and her suitcase followed), zebra's (by Hearst's Castle) and a guy shitting beside his car.

You've got a twisted notion of "extremely nice".... ;)
