Houston FJR Service

I'm looking for a good dealership or service outfit in or around Houston you would trust with your FJR. As Houston is a rather large city geographically, I'm hoping for a shop closer to the west side of town or one of the smaller outlying towns.

I think I'm starting to understand why so many of you really know your stuff when comes to working on the beast. I've asked an occasional service manager about working on them with the usual sure, no problem answer. Ask a little more and they seem to get glassy eyed :dribble: :blink: and they don't give me confidence that they know what they are doing. I plan to gradually start doing my own work eventually but my day job keeps me engaged too much right now.

Tejas Yamaha in the Highlands repaired my '05 ticker and I had absolutely zero problems with it in the 23k miles since then.

Their shop is very clean and organized. I'm going back to them for the valve check.

I've had decidedly "mixed" results from this location. There's a reason FJRMGM lives a few miles away and drove to Tejas Yamaha to get his bike worked on.... I'm just as close to them as he is, and I need my TPS sensor replaced via the recall, and I'm taking mine to Tejas as well...

Thanks guys. Tejas is almost on the other side of the world for me down the hideous I-10 :dribble: over the top of Houston. About 60 miles each way I'd guess. Webster isn't much closer either. It is what it is though, life isn't always fair. I did get a service manual...now where is that torque wrench...I don't think I'm ready. If anyone else has any ideas, I'd like to hear them.

You could go talk to Kevin Stasney of KS Cycles out in Katy. He's done some hot rod work to a buddies Ducati 900SS that he was very happy with and he used to tune Colin Edwards WERA bikes.
