I'm thinking I will probably be solo and head up a coastal route as far as the Portland area, then a visit to Kennewick before kinda beelining it for Nakusp. I-5 doesn't appeal to me very much.

Post up routes, itineraries, solo/groups, etc...if you're willing to share/take on ridiers!

It was a long route for me- First, I got a new job and moved from Huntington Beach,Ca to Seattle, WA. Next, I will ride from Seattle to Canada with some guys that know where they are going and arrive at CFR in 360 odd miles.

I think maybe a lttle closer to 450 Barry. Thats what Google maps tells me from Stanwood, you more likely 480 from Seattle

if ya stick to Eastern Oregon partly, 395 from Burns to Pendleton is a ton o fun

and, ageed, I5 is not exactly 'fun' riding

Toe, that route of yours is going to be gorgeous. I'm doing a more inland route, probably taking in some of the big national parks up thataway. Some others from around here are also doing a similar ride, and Flying Junior (Walt) and I will probably join them or meet up with them for parts of the ride. We'll be camping, and that's the main thing that would make it tough to ride with someone if everyone isn't handling the overnights the same way.

After CFR I'm hoping to head north and ride the Icefields Parkway (Banff to Jasper) and who knows? Alaska then? Way up in the air so far. Maybe we can pick up riding groups in Nakusp for the post-rally rides.

Obviously subject to change over the next five months but right now it looks like I won't be able to get out of Socal until 16 June. So, likely route for me is whatever the quickest two-day blitz up to Nakusp turns out to be (US395, I5?). Of course, after CFR I might have three weeks to get home so . . . .

My guess is you guys should ride north. That's usually up on the *maps.

(* maps are these paper things people used to navigate before there wuz GPSes)

No need to thank me...

That looks like a fun route. I'll also be going solo, can I tag along?

PM sent yesterday

After WFO-4, I met up with my wife and some friends in Victoria, BC for a few days, then headed down US-101 and Hwy. 1 back to SoCal. A lot of the towns along the Oregon coast are really touristy, but I had a great time staying overnight in Yachats (which the locals pronounced Yah-hots), about 25 miles south of Newport. You can keep Eureka, but Fort Bragg was pretty cool. Even with 30 mph cross winds coming off the ocean, the fog made visibility on the Golden Gate Bridge about 50 feet.

For what it's worth.

I will be leaving central Or. on the 16th if anybody is coming this way. Got plenty of room if you need a place to crash.
