That's something you hope to see only in your imagination. I say a prayer whenever I approach someone in a turning situation.

It's a great argument for running interference and using a car to protect yourself.

IIRC, it's part of the Euro safety campaign to make cage drivers more aware.
I'll pass on pinning my future on "cage drivers being more aware". I hope you all will too....
I didn't say that I rely on that. The posted video is part of a campaign in Europe where motorcycles are a bit more prevalent than here. At least they realize that education of the non-riding public may be a key to the problems as opposed to our government officials who would rather control the motorcyclists and have decided that it isn't the responsibility of the motorist.

You KNOW I don't trust anyone in any situation...except to believe they will act stupidly and irresponsibly and will likely do the wrong thing.

Whoooaaaaa!!! Scared the sh! out of me just watching

ergo trust no one on 4 or 2 wheels

btw never seen this commercial either on German/Swiss/Austrian or Italian TV, this is probably only aired in England

Pretty effective. It's been around for a while but AFAIK just in the UK.

Most of the safety adverts I've seen in Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Germany are addressed at the bikers themselves.

Stuff like: "A helmet's not enough. Use the head that's in it"

Not to take away from the message...

Notice that the driver's head was in the way of the camera when he looked to the right, no wonder the bike looked like it "came out of nowhere" to the passenger (camera) in the front seat.
The second time is a different re-enactment. Good camera work!

That is a great PSA, hope it's doing it's job over there.

If that camera man wasn't in the car distracting the driver then the crash never would have happened!

The video endorses the face that wearing a helmet can be a lifesaver. My opinion (imho) is if you know within a few seconds you are about to be in a crash then which thought goes thru your head: 1) glad I got the full-face helmet, or 2)wish I had bought the full-face helmet. ??

Hey Mike it's a good reminder.

I lost a friend about 3 years ago in a similar accident. 10 houses away a driver backed out of the driveway and didn't see him coming. The worst part was his kids were in the front yard and watched it happen.

Always look at the big picture not just 20ft in front of you.
