I just picked up a 1995 Gols Wing SE with 15ths miles on it with a haniggan? side car atacthed after the dead of my father. How may other have a wing and how do you like and use it. I bought the FJR to be able to ride two up with my wife, but due to a bad knee she does not find it comfortable for any distance. My thought was to use the FJR for my everyday solo ride and the wing for two up. Never having owned a wing before the first thing I did was to remove the side car and all the bracket on the bike. BOY if you think the FJR has a lot of body panels try the Gold Wing. Man o man. :(

I have a 2003 wing and love it. The FJR is my solo bike and the wife and I enjoy the wing 2 up .WE love the Gold Wing and have taken several 2-3 week road trips on it , even did a Iron Butt ride on it a while back. The wife has been on the FJR with me once, she says "it's okay, but it is no Gold Wing"

I also have a 2003 Goldwing. I used to enjoy the Goldwing alot more before I bought the FJR. Now the Goldwing sits and waits for a 2-up ride. If it's just me I'll take the FJR 9 times out of 10.

Erik.

My dad has a wing, and i seriously thought about it before i bought the fjr. i need something that can ride 2-up easily, but didn't like the idea of having to ride a 900lb bike the other 90% of the time. very nice bikes though.

I came to the FJR from a 2004 Goldwing. It was a superb M/C. If there had been a way for me to keep both, I would have.

I picked up an 89 Wing last year for 2-up riding with my girlfriend. I don't like the handling much but I can ride it all day for a week straight and still feel like riding. We took it on a 9 day ride to and through the Blue Ridge and then rode the Dragon on the way home. My SO would not have been able to do that on the FJR. I love the FJR when solo and sometimes 2-up for short rides. I even ride the Wing solo every so often but there is no comparison when it comes to getting my Ya-Ya's out. The FJR RULES! :yahoo:

I solved my 's/o 2 up on fjr problems' by sending her to riding school and getting her a FZ6. Works for me. :D
I've been trying that but she won't go for it. I'm still trying tho. :)

Not sure if it's a good idea to have her on two wheels now that I think about it.

I had an 03 wing and pjt 40k miles on it. Rode alot of 2up and then my wife got her license and a bike so I went the sport touring route, first with an st1300 and then the 06 fjr. I also have a fz6, nice and lite. Everett

I'm not old enough to get a Wingebago yey, but when I am I'll look at these:clicky
You'd be surprised at how much fun a Wing is. Don't kid yourself, it will run like a scalded cat. If it had a little more ground clearance, i would still be on it. It IS NOT and old man's bike. JMHO.

I have an 01 wing and was going to sell it after getting it the FJ, but the wife said NO!

The wing is no slug and will surprise a lot of riders, but its not in the same class as the FJ for performance!

I have an 03 wing along with my 06 FJR. My wing will last for every with the amount of miles I put on it now that I got the FJR. Last year we still took the wing on long Sunday rides when I'm two up, but over the winter I got a new Russel seat for the FJR, so the wing will probably get even less use this year. Will still take the wing to our week long trip to Maine this year.

I have a 2003 GL1800 + my 2006 FJR1300 AE :yahoo: !

As others have stated, the FJR is my personal favorite for solo riding.

The Goldwing is better for TWO UP riding or when you really want comfort on two wheels.

Best Regards,

Shane
