Hey all:

Been busy with work and such lately and I hadn't noticed the brand new Canuck message area. woohoo, eh!   :D

Anyways, I've been to last years EOM and hope to make it to the coming years EOM and possibly even CFO. Would love to make it to WFO but just can't swing the time this year.

Anyways, I was thinking perhaps its time we consider organizing a Canadian Owners meeting. I live near Ottawa so my thinking is more an Eastern Canada meeting, but while I couldn't attend this year maybe there is interest in a Western owners meeting.

We could setup a rally in the middle of Canada, But It has been my experience that Winnipeg is not exactly my "first" choice for motorcycle roads in Canada ;-)

So anybody have any thoughts on this subject?

As for an Eastern rally, I hosted a rally a few years back for another group and based it out of Kingston Ontarion. The location worked out well. Quinte Peninsula to the West, St.Lawrence river to the west, and a mess of great roads heading North to Algonquin, and easy access from the 401.

A quick look at the dates being suggested for EOM and CFO and I think Sept 23 might be a good date. Everyone is back to school so the cottage country traffic has died off and we are not quite into Fall color season so the roads are reasonable clear of traffic.

Another location may be Huntsville area. I know there is an FJR owner (D.V. I think) who has set up a ride out of his place in past years. Maybe this could be reworked into an Eastern rally. There is also the Parry Sound area.

So hey, Post up!. I mean its the middle of winter up here in the Great White North so its not like your out riding!

Great area and not far for me.

I couldn't say for sure, but would try.

That is torch. I haven't see him around here lately, but I heard he has a small gathering every year.

A meeting would be a good idea. Count me in on speck, but not guaranteed.

Call it CANFO, CANFA, CFJRA, CFJRO, or something.

I would help out in anyway I can.

I also plan on riding in the Ride for Sight on the Saturday (June 24) trip from Whitby to Quinte West.

A few friends want to go do the Saturday run and asked me to go.

End Sept looks go for me, I have a pretty packed summer,

Happy to assist planing and leading rides north of Kingston to Westport and Barrie's Bay.

Chris

I think Torch has started it, June last two years. Couldn't make it, too early in the year to come from the west coast, but I was thinking of suggesting a central meeting to start, maybe in Thunder Bay,or the north shore of Lake Superior somewhere, and then move it east and west alternate years.

We do have the best kilometer eater out there, so why not use it. I would love an excuse to ride to Nova Scotia or PEI for a meet. And when it comes to the west, well there are a few of us here who could put it together, whether you want to cruise the coast or get your load off with endless twisties, its all here.

Hi Pierre here. I'm just east of Ottawa and I'm ready for a meet depending on the time frame. Sep looks ok at the moment. :D Missed out on Torches little gatherings each year cause of conflicts. Maybe this year but haven't seen anything posted yet.

My riding plans this year are still a mess. I'm firm on Boone in May for a week with cottage in mid-end July but other than that very indecisive...

I need some inspiration. <_<

I need some inspiration.
WFO-5

Slab Blast to Denver.

Couple of days around Moab

Back road to WFO-5 Reno

Route back, Up through the Tetons, Yellowstone and across the Northen States to the Sou.

Back home on HWY 17.

If you need a little incentive, for a starter...maybe sport bike in Parry Sound the beginning of July B) ?...I've booked for WFO 05 :bleh: ...other than that .... I'm open, we could always start it by tying in to something else for an added incentive  or maybe to get the better half's to show interest in going :) or not ;) ...just a thought :dribble:

Naw did that last year (and the year before) and besides WFO is end of Jul and I'm cottaging then. Loved Hy50 (Loneliest Road) to Reno!

I'm another Canadian going to WFO in Reno, and I'm sure RocketDoc, Gypsy, and Kasey will be there too. WC has a sitemap up which should show all the Canucks booked to date.

That's right those are all that I know of at the moment, maybe more. No commitment yet from two others I ride with. Talked about all the Canucks meeting north of Reno somewhere and rolling in as a group, with or without flags a flyin'

Any thoughts ??

I would be up for a grand entrance! Sylvia and I haven't really done any trip planning for Reno as yet. We're going to France and Switzerland for 2 weeks (alas no FJR) in May and that has been consuming most of the planning. Stay in touch.
