Hurricane Ike - Groo and others from Houston ... you alright?

You guys alright?

We sure missed it. That dude was heading straight for us and then took a turn north to Galveston/Houston. Down here in Rockport, we saw water over the Fulton Beach road yesterday and are probably 15 miles inland. Wednesday, had mandatory evacuation, then Thursday, it was called off. Last night, went outside at 2:30AM as the center was passing thru Houston. The wind speed here was maybe 10-20 (guessing) with zero rain.

Katy Tx (west of Houston) dodged the bullet. Power just came back on. Lots of tree and fence type damage but quick run out didn't see anything major (but I didn't go far). Storm went by more to the east of us and over top of Houston. I'm concerned for the folks in Clear Lake, Friendswood and other cities south and east of Houston proper. I have relatives there with no response to comms yet. TV making it look bad.
