Hwy. 155..... Thinking about taking it home from DV. B)
Hmm. Most DV visitors just take home souvenirs.

It was clear of snow but very sandy in early March LAST year.

So, there's that.

"Lately" generally means within the past couple of WEEKS... but I appreciate the feedback. :p
God, yeah, OM, you big dummy. Last year's sand was washed off the road LONG ago.

This year, they probably have DIFFERENT sand.

We were up on Greenhorn last Sunday & most of the snow was melted or melting (as in, still actively wetting up the road) but we just had a decent sized snow storm last week. They only plow from Wofford Heights to Greenhorn summit, so it could be sketchy west of the summit. Most likely will be clear before too long, though, if traffic hasn't mostly cleared it already.

FYI, if you are riding around the lake, Sierra Road along the east side of the lake is washed out so you can't shortcut up from the Ridgecrest side or make a complete circuit.

Thanks Wendy!

Was over there on March 25th. Still too early for 155 on the Day Of Departure (DOD), on the 26th = road closed to through traffic due to snow and ice. While in Kernville, tried to stop by your place but you were not there at the shop on Friday evening when we arrived 3/25 and we left at 8:00AM on the 26th, for the West trying to skirt some(?) storm.

Saw that Sierra Road was closed off of 178 on our way west due to slide. We came in through Wofford Heights! Glad to hear 155 is open now. Will use it soon. :yahoo:

I'll try to stop by next time I'm through Kernville. Am contemplating a ride from Kernville to Oakhurst via the foothills, early next month. :clapping:

Thanks, Wendy, for that helpful information! :D

Your avatar looks something like mine... we'll have to compare x-rays someday...

Are you kidding?!?! I'm ALWAYS here...

..harass my budette Wendy..
...which makes me an easy target! Sometimes I just close the door so I can get some %^&$*#! work done for a change

Seriously, I'm here 6-7 days a week. If, by the grace of God, we are actually closed, my cell number is on the front of the shop - gimme a call if you want to meet up at the brewery or whatever. That way I can pretend like I have a life

Enjoy your travels, where ever they may take you (Just went over the Lion's Trail last week and it was actually unusually clean, if that's up your alley).

And BTW, that is probably the least weird pelvis-related comment I've received on this site (Did Bionic Pelvis and the Twisted Pickles originate here? I'm pretty sure it did...) - I may have to take you up on that some day!

Well, I didn't have an x-ray with me but it was great meeting you guys on Sunday in the flesh (so to speak!). Really appreciated the feedback on 155... it got pretty cold up there, still some snow up top on the side of the roads, sandy/dirty in places but you were right... it was BEAUTIFUL!! Original plan was to ride 155 out to 65, but I ended up zigging instead of zagging in Glennville and we ended up on Jack Ranch Rd, White River Rd, Old Stage Rd in to Fountain Springs. It was an awesome "mistake"! :yahoo:

Hope to hook up with you when we're back in the area later this year, Wendy!! B)
