Well, as many of you already know, Marc Knewman has drawn a line in the sand on his forum. Kinda pissed me off, ya know?

So be it, I had planned not to take sides, but for me, that's kinda hard not to do anymore.

I hadn't been spending much time on either forum lately due to personal shit, but I can tell you this. I won't be spending much time on the old forum anymore. Too bad the way this has all gone down.

So fucking be it!

So hello my new extended family! I am looking forward to a fresh start, and all the trials and tribulations that we will undoubtedly go through. This should be quite a blast, albeit with the associated growing pains.

Still, no doubt in my mind this will be a world class fjr forum a year from now. Mark my words.

Here's a big wet kiss going out to all youse guys - smack!

Can you feel the love? :p

It is a shame what is going on right now. I always favored the other site based on its users, but the EZboard structure was always the weak link. I'm not sure why there is apprehension in moving to a better system for all to benefit from.

From the outside looking in, it is a win win situation for all. The hacker incident just presented the perfect opportunity for a change that would have occurred eventually anyway.

Oh, I feel all warm and fuzzy all over! :D

Yea I'm getting pissed at him too, and I didn't have anywhere what you and Dale did in time and effort into the place.

We are just going to have to grow this place and blow him off the map.

I'm feeling it Greg. Like you, Marc just stepped over the line where I didn't want to be a part of that site any more. I'm sure your vision will occur.

I actually like this platform MUCH better that the ezboard...I have never liked ezboard sites.

I became addicted to the EZ Board Forum because that community expressed a tremendous amount of knowledge, humor and camaraderie. B) It was informative but it was fun and stimulating, too. The same people could be raunchy on one thread and absolutely touching on the next.

As everybody else pointed out, the EZ Board was a technical disaster but the personality of its frequenters was amazing :D . Sort of a "Cheers" atmosphere in cyberspace. Who would have cared if the plumbing was old or the light switches did not work in Sammy's bar?

Then something broke (and I don't mean a washroom faucet)

I won't take part in the dispute. All I can say is most of the great characters that made that Board unique have moved over to this Forum and this is where I'm gonna hang my hat.

I think we'll soon reach critical mass :) for that buzzing, vital atmosphere that is sadly gone out of the EZBoard.

Stef

BTW, I am an active member of the local FJR Forums (Fora?) in Italy and Germany but, although they were established long before the FJRF, they are pretty sleepy places. To stay with my bar metaphor, you look inside and there's nothing much going on. A couple oldtimers asleep in their beers and some juveniles bragging about women they never even picked up :( .

You can borrow my rubber chicken for some action shots...

Hey Greg, please keep your big wet gay lips to yourself. And how about dropping the Jack ball. It always reminds me about the little girl they killed with their fresh hamburger meat a few years back here in Washington state.

I myself am not too much for big sloppy male kisses. With the previous reply I can feel the 'Home' fires getting started. TJ :p

Whoa...That was like a dozen years ago!

Nowadays Jack does funny commercials that make me wanna eat chiabatta burgers and whatnot. :p

So you're saying we should forget about that little girl and eat at Jack in the Box because it happened 12 years ago. Not me. By the way the body count for Jack that summer was 8 including Illinois and Jersey.

Well, the Japanese killed tens of thousands of Americans in WW2. Maybe we should all turn in our FJR's in protest?

At some point you move on.

I was in management for Jack in the Box for 4 years in Lake Havasu City,AZ from 93-97. I can tell you about how the standards there are far better than any other fast food restaurant. I would eat there anytime just because i know that goes on there. Food safety is #1.

Granted, I feel bad about the E-Coli bacteria that killed those people. But it was not Jacks fault. It was a bad batch of hamburger meat that got contaminated from the plant that made it. The only reason i am not still there is because i found a better paying job.

Adam

P.S. Jack in the box is not in Jersey

Wow, talk about holding a grudge. Sheeze. Do you know how many people have died since then due to something that someone (or a company) could have done differently? Why pick on Jack?
Remember, there are 40K deaths (source NHTSA for 2002) in the US on the highways each year, each of them as tragic as any other death. I use that to temper my anger or opinion about reading about some sensalized news story where a few people are killed or die. Even with this Iraq war (please let's not debate the war itself), almost two orders of magnitude more people have died on the highways than in battle in Iraq/Afghan since we started fighting. Do the math on what date after 9/11 did more people die on the highways since the attach, than in the attacks on NY and DC.

Life is a risk. Some things you can control, but an awful lot you can't.
