If you are a Steve McQueen fan or just want to understand the public's obsession with him, you'll not want to miss the upcoming documentary I AM STEVE MCQUEEN which airs on Spike TV June 24th 9/8c time. Narrated by Robert Downey Jr., the film features Gary Oldham, Pierce Brosnan, all three of Steve's wifes (including Ali MacGraw), and many close friends and family who held nothing back. Best of all, it features many of Steve's cool cars and bikes, and shot of the cool McQueen Triumph that I've mentioned in prior posts.

I played a small role serving as one of the executive producers, first helping to get this project launched and then helping to keep it on track through the usual production issues. It has exceeded my very high expectations.

Here's a link to the trailer. I hope you can tune in and share with your riding pals.

Sounds great I'll have to put that into my calendar. (the only way I seem to be able to remember stuff like this anymore)

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for sharing this! I am reading the Wes Gehring Biography right now. He was a cool guy and He like me, was born in Beech Grove, In!

Thanks for the heads up.

That is awesome, can't wait to see the whole thing.

I'll watch for sure. It occurs to me the of the few dvd's I've actually bought, I've got On Any Sunday, Great Escape, Magnificent 7 and Bullitt.

Way to go Hudson, that had to be fun to work on.

So I screened the final version tonight, and let me say it is EXCEPTIONAL. Beautifully shot and edited, and the film archivists located some amazing vintage footage and interviews. You will not be disappointed. The participants hold nothing back, and you get the real stories from those who lived it.

Hudson did a studio preview at his house a couple of weekends ago. It is awesome! DVR is set too. Hopefully since it is on cable they won't edit for language and let it fly.

Wait...Some of you losers already saw it?? At an invitation only secret prescreening at Hudson's house? Now I'm kinda hurt!!
