I bought an FJR - what to do now?

And seriously, I registered to the forum in Oct 14 considering an FJR, now finally got one today. It's a 2006 FJR1300AE. It was apparently sitting for a year now in Ride Motorsports in Woodinville so they decided to get the price low enough and in just right time to call my attention.

Like I said a silver 2006 FJR1300AE with a ton of LED lights on the back of side cases, frame sliders, aftermarket mirrors and at 99% history of being fallen on the right side at low speed indicated by minor scratches on right pipe, case, front bodywork, mirror, and a quarter size hole in the right rear blinker - I'd be happy to meet the previous owner if still around to find out more about bike.

I see there was a meeting planned May 2nd last year - I'd definitely attend one this year if my work schedule allows me to be in Seattle when one happens again.

Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and check in to the page as I'll be probably showing here up quite often

Enjoy your new bike. Lots and Lots of great people and information on the forum. Make sure you plan to attend the spring NW tech meet. You can see just about every accessory installed on a bike. You can sit on different seats, see different windshields, tires ect. If the bike, being that it is a 2006, doesnt have a fuel controler and block off plates installed, you might want to start there. Nels, at 2Wheel Dyno Works, is the man when it comes to custom tuning your bike. See you at the spring tech meet.

I'm impressed with the forum response. As I said I'll do all I can to attend tech event. Fuel controller and block off plates? No idea but I'll look into it. Regardless of that from tomorrow morning I'll put her to work. I'll keep a close watch to this forum for any group ride or event. There was a bit of sun out this morning so I took few pics.

She's a beauty. You were wondering about fuel controller and block off plates.

Plates:

Basically, the plates enable you to remove the air injection plumbing on top of the motor. It cleans up the mess of tubes there (you can see them by lifting the tank, a 10 minute job). The plates can be bought on this forum from one of our members and you can learn about them here: CLICKY

You can find more info by google searching -- fjrforum.com pair block off plates

Fuel controller:

Often referred to a Power Commander around here. Some guys use it, most don't: it helps smooth out that throttle response and can improve power just a bit. You may find yourself disappointed if you're looking for cheap and easy extra power. Dyno time ain't cheap. Google search it -- fjrforum.com power commander
