Makers Mark is my current favorite, it goes very well with sweet vermouth, bitters, cherries and ice !

In my career I never met a drink I didn't like but I really liked Alberta Springs.

I think(?) it was Dave Black.

Everyday bourbon: Evan Williams single barrel. About $22

Special bottle: Pappy Van Winkle or Eagle's Rare 17. Ranges from $65-125, best sipped with friends

Something new: 1912 12 yr whiskey. Best enjoyed outta Neihart's stash.

Assorted 20 year Ports and the odd Madeira.

+1, Gunny; anything stolen from Dave Black's liquor cabinet tastes the very best of all, preferably Jameson Irish Honey from Ireland! JSNS!

Finally... something I have some expertise in. ;)

Everyday bourbon: Ezra Williams black label 90 proof

Stumbled across this stuff years ago. I could not believe my own taste buds that it was so good for so cheap. So naturally I had to validate the initial impressions. Set up a couple of different triple blind tastings and compared it to Knob Creek, Makers Mark, Jim Beam, and a couple of others that don't readily come to mind (possibly from excessive bourbon savorings) and in every case the Ezra is the people's choice. Try it yourself (the blind tastings) and enjoy the radical savings afterwards. This is what I pack in the FJR trunk when we go on the road.

For "choice" bourbons I prefer Eagle Rare. I've dabbled in some others, but keep coming back to them. If they mess with the recipie and screw it up I'll switch, but as long as it is as good as it is, I'll keep sending them my money.

Oh, and there is no other liquor worth drinking (straight) besides good Kentucky Bourbon in my opinion.

Your opinion may vary.

Larceny, found it on the KY Bourbon Trail ride this year.
That Larceny was good stuff, but the bottle must have had a flaw in it...I swear the bourbon disappeared overnight. I can't seem to find a replacement bottle anywhere up here either, guess I'll have to make my way back down to Kentucky.

I've become a fan of Buffalo Trace since then. It's pretty great stuff considering its price point.
