I have been trying for the last 30 minutes to get my bike on the rear stand and just can't seem to do it. Is there a trick to it? Please help :(

Someone posted a thread about this some time ago....do a search...there were many helpful tips in it. Other then that....stop being a girly man and "get er done".......lol

It is so easy once you do it the first time you will kick yourself.

Your foot is the key. Do NOT try to lift it with your right hand.

Standing on the kick stand side of the bike grab the handlebar with left hand.

Where the bag attaches to the side of the bike there is a grab hole put your right hand here.

Now with your right foot push down on the center stand just until it hits the ground. Now with slight pressure on it slowly start pushing the bike to the level point and the center stand has both feet on the ground.

Now push as hard as you can with your right foot down on the center stand and simply use your hands to guide the bike and she should come right up.

PS make sure bike is in neutral...

Yes there is a thread,

1. make absolutely sure your front wheel is pointing straight (its the key here)

2. Grab the left grip and right handle on the left side of your seat.

3. lower the centerstand down with your foot and balance the bike until you feel both arms of the centerstand touching evenly and steady the bike.

4. Thrust your foot down hard on the centerstand and pull up at the same time. It should feel like 80% leg thrust and 20% pull.

5. Now get off the big wheel and go over to the FJR and try it for real

Knock Knock can no one hear me here? :D :dribble:

While we are waiting for him to drop his bike, there is a new oil thread opened up.....put on your rainsuits.

Did someone say thrust? What are we talking about here anyways?
Attempting a new forum record for the fastest "thread gone wrong syndrome"? https://www.scottwright.net/files/smileys/***.gif

And weren't you just accusing ME of trying to increase my post count????

"Hello kettle? This is the pot...you're black"

:D :p

Naw.....that was sparky. Oh, I commend you on the wonderful choice of emoticon......I thought we were talking about jet engines or something.....I would never, I repeat, never connect the word "thrust" to reproductive activities......

:p That is funny, I could not do it the first time I tried either, then I got pissed and just drove that center stand to the ground and the bike went right up on it, key drive straight down on the stand.

:yahoo:

Oops. I got confused...easy to do when a thread is being hijacked at the speed of light.

I do hope this center stand thing is going well for him while we enjoy his rapidly degrading thread.

I figure when he gets back and see's how much destruction we have caused the depression of dropping his brand new bike won't be so bad. :D

That's a very optimistic line of thought you have, sparky. Very refreshing and thoughtful. lol
