I've been posting about it, and lusting after it, and spending a lot of time searching all over the internet, but today I closed the deal on my third FJR! 2014 ES in a lovely shade of red. You know, like all the other 2014's.

I'm really excited about it, of course, and really looking forward to heading out this summer to some of the gatherings I probably would have gone to anyway, but I'll feel better, way out there, knowing the bike is going to be super-dependable. Think I'm gonna love that cruise control thingy too. I was starting to worry about the old '05, as good as it's been. If I get it sold, looks like I'll be able to say it has under 100,000 miles! (It has 99,077 right now.)

I bought it from a dealership, A & S BMW in Roseville, and I'm satisfied with the deal. The selling price is in the "good" ballpark, no secret mystery charges, and they just finished doing a complete 12,000 mile service on it (though it has just over 11), and replaced the tires too. Looks like over $800 in parts and labor included in the sell price. Going out to pick it up at noon tomorrow. Yahoo!!

Got a few farkles I can start cannibalizing, and then there's going to be a very reasonably-priced Gen I for sale soon. And I'll throw the stickers in for free.

Oooo, look over there on the left. Below my dog's picture. Bottom line.

Nice job Mike. I've dealt with A&S on a couple of occasions while on the road and have purchased many aftermarket items for my Beemers from them. Great dealership!

Enjoy the new ride!!

I am really happy for you, Mike!

You and that bike will match the GOOFY level just right.

So coolio - now then, let's ride, 'k?

Congrats SacMike!

I never pictured you being a passion pink kinda guy. Cover it up with enough stickers and no one will know...

It's not a dying breed if it still runs!

We are just spreading the gospel to a new generation through our Gen 1 used bikes. My son and his wife move down to SC end of June, bringing his Gen 1 beauty down with him to ride the SC foothills.
