Not Safe For Work
I've been posting about it, and lusting after it, and spending a lot of time searching all over the internet, but today I closed the deal on my third FJR! 2014 ES in a lovely shade of red. You know, like all the other 2014's.
I'm really excited about it, of course, and really looking forward to heading out this summer to some of the gatherings I probably would have gone to anyway, but I'll feel better, way out there, knowing the bike is going to be super-dependable. Think I'm gonna love that cruise control thingy too. I was starting to worry about the old '05, as good as it's been. If I get it sold, looks like I'll be able to say it has under 100,000 miles! (It has 99,077 right now.)
I bought it from a dealership, A & S BMW in Roseville, and I'm satisfied with the deal. The selling price is in the "good" ballpark, no secret mystery charges, and they just finished doing a complete 12,000 mile service on it (though it has just over 11), and replaced the tires too. Looks like over $800 in parts and labor included in the sell price. Going out to pick it up at noon tomorrow. Yahoo!!
Got a few farkles I can start cannibalizing, and then there's going to be a very reasonably-priced Gen I for sale soon. And I'll throw the stickers in for free.
Oooo, look over there on the left. Below my dog's picture. Bottom line.
