I constantly see mistaken comments about the "Faster Silver" color for FJR's. Evidently there are still some people that are unaware that 03 Liquid Silver is THE FASTER SILVER. Now I don't know how to make this FACT and plainer. Maybe this needs to be pinned somewhere, or added to the page graphics, or part of the security challenge I don't know. I'm just worried that people will keep making this mistake forever unless something is done about it soon.

Except....everything being equal....but its not, the North American '03 FJR had different cams and is a "little" quicker and a tad more responsive. That's from Warchild's "butt-meter" and others who can ride bikes at the edge of performance and tell the difference.

There are differences in the duration and overlap though the superceded parts retain the same number in the parts catalog (a common practice). They were once measured and discussed a lon, long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

Of course, that's from one who has been around from the second year and owned an '04. It is all rather meaningless when we just want to ride and enjoy our bikes and leave the marginal differences to those who have nothing better to do than argue and boast.

06 and later has taller gears. There is no way an 03-05 will match top speed of an 06 or later. That makes mine the fastest. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Anyone care to run top speed against my 91 FLHTCU?

Its the BLACK one's people.

What helps it accellerate so fast is that it sucks out all the surrounding color to help pull it along. Pretty soon we will be living in a monochromatic world thanks to all 08 feej owners....

:yahoo:

So far no one has it right. According to Yamaha: the 07 is the fastest. Combined with the taller gearing and the extra sassy Black Cherry paint, nothing can touch it.

The rep I spoke to said that the secret formula in the paint actually seperates air molecules. Thus creating an air-less pocket, if you will, which allows for much less air resistance. Less air resistance equals faster bike. This phenomenon has been reported by several riders, who after finding themselves in this "airless pocket", have lost their breath during "test runs". This is why Yamaha can't release the original paint code to paint manufactors And yes, I know several companies i.e. ColorRite have close color matches - they're just not perfect.

Yamaha decided that this bike was just too fast for the average street rider, therefore they changed the chemical make-up of the paint back to its original composition - to slow it down. (Less cherry = less fun and we all know how much fun cherries can be!). This is why the 08' is just plain black.

Yes you are right, out of all the silvers, the 03 silver the fastest.

But we all know blue is the faster color...in case you did not know silver is not a color, it is a shade..(of black and white..which are hues, not colors)

Looking at the frequency of all visable light, blue is a higher frequency than red, yellow , orange. Violet is a higher frequency than blue, and that is why the purplish blue of the 06 is a bit faster than the blue blue of the 05.

I am sure your opinion is fine , as it is your opinion, but you can not argue with science , fact is fact. Blue is and always will be the faster than all of the FJR colors unless they come out with a violet FJR or one with ultra-violet emiting paint.

Fastest top speed, or quickest acceleration? My '03 is the quickest FJR I've ever ridden.

Of course, it's the ONLY FJR I've ever ridden, but still. . . . .
