I saw the original airing of this, as it was our local TV station KGW, during the Portland Rose Festival. The kid is still getting airtime. Our paper ran an article that was in the Washington Post on him. I guess when they called on the phone to talk to him (Johnathon Ware) they first talked with his mom, then finally got him on the phone. They said at first it didn't sound like he wanted to talk, he said he was busy. "I'm scooping my dog's poop", he said. I can just hear him delivering this in the same monotone as "I like turtles".
