I had to go out to feed the FJR. After filling I pulled into the local fast food burger establishment for some personal sustinance. As I pull into the lot I see a KTM 690 front and center. I grab the spot next to it and walk in. Standing in line is the only person holding a helmet other than myself. I break the ice with, "Let me guess, you own the KTM outside." That was it. For the next 30+ minutes we shot the poop about his KTM, my FJR, whats next so on and so on. Who else in this world can you walk up to a complete stranger, hold a pleasant conversation and not know anything about that person. You just gotta love it.

Smokers. I doubt you can find the research, in this day and age, but previous investigation into the subject showed that fellow smokers were the most likely people to act friendly towards each other.

Gun aficionados rate extremely high, also. Which makes perfect sense. If you're both armed, it's best to be polite.

All this reminds me....I gotta start a poll on who is gay...and who isn't. Something tells me that kali is gonna rate kinda high on the "gay" quotient.

Pulled into get gas, went around for 1/2 hour with a Duc rider. Ain't all that rare, really.

Radman that was a KTM not a Duc. Dont insult KTM like that.

Odot all this talk about exhaust pipes and men on KTM's is getting me all frothy. Now I need to go to NAFO just so we can talk a nice long quiet ride together in the secluded mountains of Colorado. I heard you got a perdy mouth.

I'd almost forgotten what day of the week it was, until I got into this thread. Friday came around quickly this week. What started out as a perfectly reasonable post.......

Definitely agree with what Slappy says. You see the bike outside. You see the rider inside and there is an instant bond. I must admit to having had friendly conversations with folks who ride HD's as well as chopper riders, squids with $800 helmet and no other protective gear and many others.

Being a female rider seems to invite conversation. Lots of people are curious. Most are impressed, complimentary and wish that they had the $$, courage, spouse/parent permission to ride. At one gas station, a couple chatted to Andy (K1200S) and I and pointed out our matching bikes and matching gear. We had to smile and say thank you. Both of us were wearing mismatched sets of our favorite gear, and didn't even match ourselves, never mind each other.

Just gotta love it. Another wonderful aspect of riding a bike.

Settle down there, slappy. I still don't understand and won't understand what a man finds attractive in another mans hairy *******.

That's it Slappy, you're out! A K-toom is just a K-toom. A Duc is a precision work of art, that not only performs, it is second to none. One experiences a Duc. A K-toom is an experience to get over. :p
