I hear the damn ticking noise,very subtle...

I dont feel any power loss,referenced to when the bike was new.It's out of warranty,how much does it cost to fix the tick?

Is it progressive and or deteriorating?

Ticking sound like steak knives on a metal table or more like a tick? There is difference between valve clatter and "the tick".

Some reports of bikes fixed out of warranty as well.

Yes, it's degenerative. No, your bike won't "grenade" on you: you can keep riding until you decide to get it looked at. Yamaha has been fixing bikes even out of warranty, including mine.
