Me thinks due to health reasons Dave sold his loved bike, "Frank", IIRC.

I sure do miss his sage technical advice and, umm, 'sharp' wit.

Jes sayin'

:****:

Jugs n' Kisses

It was indeed health issues that caused Radman to downsize his ride. Pieces of Frank live on in my FJR. Every now and again Radman does stop by and visit the Forum.

For every Abbott there was a Costello, Laurel a Hardy, Farley a Spad, but there was a special class for TWN and Radman when they got things cranking on the Forum.

My first CFO shared a room with Rad, gave me lots of tips on careing for my new FJR.

Great guy, yeah I miss him.

At WFO in Reno, they were doing TPS for anyone. I pulled my bike in and TWN and Rad had the thing opened up and Rad was throwing parts here and there with TWN chipping in the background. Good memories indeed.

For me, Radman was like the technical incarnation of Scab.

Scab made me laugh out loud and spew coffee at my screen at 6AM.

Radman did that too, but then I had to think a good long while about what he "dun sed..."

A forum member (not to be named, Greg) recently sent me a PM about missing all of the "old forum guys" that had been around for such a long time, and had really laid the foundation of what this forum now is. Which is to say substantial. But alas many have moved on, or worse, passed on, and I agree... wholeheartedly. We miss them lugs real bad.

But I also look forward to some "new old guys" that maybe have as much (or more?) to share.

This thing ain't close to dead (contrary to popular Connie Owners' opinion).

The FJR is still the best damn sport touring package available. Right here. Right now.

And it's the folks here make it that way. Your support and knowledge is what makes the little problems, little.

Keep it up, peeps.

Fully agree, Fred!

Actually, you are one of the new noobies, ion beam too. What got me to post this was after looking at some old posts from them two!

Yep, Rad was pretty near irreplaceable. I hope he's doing better with the health issues, but age gets all of us sooner or later (and he was a few months younger than me, IIRC. )

How many here remember the Man **** contest in Reno. Radman dazzled the ladies and took home the gold.

Don't know if it's him but there is a Radman over on ST.n with the same avatar (and apparent sense of humor)

He was dealing with the long term effects of diabetes. The neuropothy has made it difficult to feel his feet and legs. IIRC, he said he was having trouble just walking down the hallways at work. That's why he sold Frank, he did not see himself doing long distance riding much. Nasty *** disease. :angry2:

What is ST.n? It's GOT to be Dave!

True confession time -

I'm restoring a 79 KZ1300 Kawi and want/need his input...
