Tired of looking at the online sites, Del Amo Motorsports is expensive and so is berts megamall. I have Michelin Pilot Roads right now nearing the end of their life. Just curious to see where I may be able to experience purchasing tires the old fashioned way. dr

Huh? What's the old fashion way- paying too much at a dealer? Go to Jakewilson.com and order a set of PR2's and in 2 days you can sleep with them if you want to.

When I'm shopping for something that I am not already familiar with I like to see what I'm getting, but tires are just round black hoops. You can't tell anything about how you'll like them by looking at them or fondling them.

IMO, you are better off going by what people who have the motorcycle and ride like you ride, recommendations. Understand that you still want to see and touch them. In my experience I could not find anyone local carrying the PR2's, so, bit the bullet, went on some recommendations from the board and dove in. Have been the only tires on the bike since, actually running the B's now to see if I can't get anymore mileage out of them and not have the center wear down so much.

As for a tire selection in Socal, you've been to the best, Berts. Only other place that might have a decent stock is Chapparell in Riverside.

What about Cycle Gear?

There is a place by me on Western called Motorcycle Tire works I usually go there.
