Mere words can't express my gratitude here. You people are the BEST this world has to offer!!!

Even though I had some very generous and kind offers from forum members (which I will never forget) of help to make the trip to Oregon possible, I decided against it.

It was probably for more selfish reasons I made that decision. I just wanted the memories of my brother to be the good and happy ones. Unlike the ones I have of laying my Mother to rest.

I was able to get my niece away from the feelings of being overwhelmed and getting started to make my brothers final plans.

They had his memorial yesterday.

In my first post I said I was feeling alone, now I KNOW I'm not because of all of you.

You guys are truly my family, yes, even you dysfunctional tards (you know who you are).

Sorry to hear of your loss. I became the 'older generation' at the passing of my mother last June. My daughter just had my first grandchild a couple of weeks ago. The circle of life continues for me.

Hi Robert,

Sorry just saw this. I'm real sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to you!!

Hey if you every want to get out of OK for a while you're always welcome to come down to GA for a ride. Maybe we can install another AVCC together

Robert, your response to all of this and to forum members caused my screen to become quite blurry.

I too wish to express my admiration to the kind, generous folks on this forum.

I've experienced this on one other forum group and it is so uplifting. These experiences again remind me to fight the urge to be such a skeptic & pessimist, and my faith in mankind has been again restored.

let's ride safe and be careful out there,

Mike in Nawlins'

I don't know how I didn't see this earlier, but my condolences, and it's good to see the response and offers of help from forum members, and even better to hear that the response is helping you feel better.

It shows that we share more than just the model of our motorcycle.

Much saddened to hear about your loss! Whether close-knit or far-flung, we sadly don't often realize how supportive their mere existance was to us 'til they've departed! Even when they aren't nearby, just the 'knowing' that we do have 'kin' is emotionally comforting. Hang in there, & lean if you need to pal, ...that's what friends are for!

I will add why this is particularly hard, not just because he is my last immediate famliy member.

This was also my closest sibling, in age and in friendship. Jim was a little over 7 years older than me.

He taught me how to drive a car. He may have regretted that because I stole it one time.

I mean when I was around 10 or so and he was a teenager he would even take me with him and his girlfriends out on the town.

How many big brothers did that?

These kind of memories are the reason I decided not to make the trip to Oregon.

I'm really not trying to sound like a whinny puppy here.

Just venting some of this. I'm probably not going to post much more on this subject after this as to not bore you folks

You're great peeps. See you all at the '09 rallies.

Just saw this...condolences upon losing your brother.

Don't even think that you're whining... your good memories keep your brother in your heart. That's what counts.
