I'm visiting the PDX area until Monday (5/18) and the gf wanted to take me out to Cannon Beach (?). We made it, but it was windy, foggy and chilly. So we took 101 south to 53.

I noticed a 2007 sitting at some busy parking lot along the road. You were heading in a northerly direction. Hope you were enjoying the roads and sunshine!

While on 53 there was a group of non-fjrs that crept up on us (in a cage) and I pulled over when I could. Never caught up with that group but that road was friggin sweet!! I need to ride out here this year.

EDIT: It's 53, not 53/56.

Lots and lots of twisties on SR 53 if you want to practice your cornering skills. Good place to wipe off any chicken strips. Fo sho.

If you don't know about hwy 53 ...

Episode 1, the trailer.

Back in my sportbike days I rode a couple times with that group. I gotta say they know how to ride (but sort of wish they put the street tires back on for street riding ... their race tires made me slow).

What time Monday are you leaving?? Maybe we could do lunch.
Carl
Next trip. :) I'll PM before I get on the plane next time. My flight left at 2:05 so I was at Cascade Station (?) by lunch time and in the airport at 12:30.

The next time I'm out there I'll have the FJR. Tentatively the first week of July (ride out Sat/Sun, spend the week and ride home Sat/Sun)

I met bikerskier and sockmonkey and someone else when I visited in Feb.

I'll be back out there. And, it's good that bikerskier is busy :)
