Kunihiko Miwa by KK

If you think that all Japanese engineers are faceless herd that would be just as soon designing refrigerators and they would motorcycles, the you haven't met Yamaha's Kunihiko Miwa - who has risen from the company's racing department to his current position as Senior executive Office, 2nd Director Motorcycle Division. The original lead designer of several TZ races bikes, the Deltabox frame, the original YZF-R1, R^, R7, as well as lending a hand with the YZR-M1 Moto GP bike, Miwa often rides his personal bikes to work, INCLUDING A HEAVILY MODIFIED 'SPEEPER' FJR1300 NAKED BIKE.

Well, duh:

OK, that's not his. It's not even in Japan. It's mine, when I stripped the bodywork and put stuff back on to make it rideable while I was troubleshooting some electrical/starter issues.

But that's a naked FJR!!!!!

I read that same exact article. Found myself wondering just what "heavily modified" meant. Funny thing, there are thousands of heavily modified bikes out there. I've never heard of any such thing with an FJR... unless you count our usual passion for farkles as heavily modified. And thanks for posting up the picture. Gives us sort of an idea of what a naked FJR might look like.

Well flowed heads, different sized valves and seats, new pistons, and hotter cams would make a FJR run like a scalded dog. IMHO

Gotta remember this guy has access to all the interchangeable parts that would fit a FJR from another platform of Yamaha. I mean a Vmax or R1 cams may fit? He also has access to the best shop one could want. I could see him doing it up right.

Would love to know what has been done for sure though.
