Considering the Lake Superior SS1K for this year, but maybe push that off to do the Great Lakes Challenge ride instead...

And thank you for coordinating and hosting these!

Wayne,
FWIW- the Lake Superior ride is the better of the two... The north shore is some nice riding.

Thank you and it's my pleasure, Wayne. I measure my success by the number of new IBA numbers that are issued. Last year was a good year !!

Tony - thanks - the Lake Superior loop offers a pretty unique challenge with the lack of expressway. The Lake Michigan loop that Linc, FJRFarrier and I did last year went very smooth - better than the Lake Huron loop Barry and I did with you back in 2010. I think I will get a hotel up there instead of sleeping in the rest stop like you did!!!

BTW, For me with all the two-lanes, the Lake Superior SS1K was a tougher ride than my BBG. And the stretch from Grand Marais, MN to Duluth can be a real drag during the weekend.

If you are doing the Great Lakes Challenge, you can take Hwy 17 along the Big Lake, instead of the slightly shorter ( by 21 miles ) HWY 11 inland route. The Challenge is a nice ride and it counts towards a Mile Eater Silver/Gold cert. since it's over 50 hours.

Could you use any more help at the start or end?
Wayne :

Thanks for asking. I am looking for four or five folks to check in Riders after the Great Lakes Challenge rides at the Denny's on Sprinkle Rd. from between Saturday at 4:00 pm to Sunday 6:00 am , for 3-4 hours shifts each . I have a list of some IBA members that live fairly close to Kzoo that I will be calling soon, but if you know anyone who may be interested in helping out, please give them my email address. I'll give them a $25 stipend to help out with gas & coffee.

Jim V.
