Jon Kerr struck a dear last night. He's holed up in Conrad MT and has 25 hrs to make it 1000 miles. He however has no wheels. If you can assist him in anyway, call him at 617.388.2784
I assume Lisa L. can also help, or you can attempt to reach out to me 516.582.4850

Jon is riding a 2013 FJR

Keep Going!

Silly autocorrect. He needs a whole new ride not rims. He totaled his FJR. I'll post on the one thread

Is he able to ride??? Saw this on FB and Lisa said his leg was broken? I hope he's okay. I totally get not wanting to DNF, but there does come a point...

Lisa Replied to that post with:

"Jon has a broken tib/fib and is hoping to find a sidecar rig to carry him back here. Can't imagine how he can even entertain that thought, but there it is."

Guess he's the one looking for a sidecar to haul him back. That's determination!

Yeah, he's got his fangs through the tank and won't give up. It's either determination or maybe crazy talk.

I'm definitely on the end of the spectrum to not DNF an IBR, but I'm pretty sure with a tib/fib thing I'd be saying, "Put a fork in me. I'm done riding today."

About 21 hours and 45 minutes left.....

If it is like my cooking it is very over done. He definitely has the Iron Butt mentality

.

I admire the tenacity and grit and I'm sure the drive to finish is strong but damn! What we really need is someone up there with an AE with a sidecar.......Best of luck to him but don't risk your life and health. Heart-wrenching to think about.

Chuck, he's well aware of his potential risks. Jon and I are in the same field kinda.

Btw, he has now secured a 2003, and a favorable trade in on a new 2016 when he's done! He should be moving shortly.

That's great to hear! Another Gen3 will be in the next IBR hopefully.

How's that for ya, RJ LOL

Lots of guys have been spending nights in Bozeman as I watch, but I wasnt paying attention this morning or I would have figured out how to get my bike to him.

He is on the road again??

Some good news out of bad situation. It would be nice if someone could hang back and spot him until the end.

The tar runs deep in this one,

Dave

He is back on the road. I just left him a text message in case he decides to lay up. I'll call and check in later.

His leg is bothering him, but he feels its manageable. He did tell me he has all his gear. I think he's got the contents of his previous bike. Not sure about his aux tank or lights. I'm assuming the dealer was able to get a gps going for him. Jon's aware that he has a long tough night ahead of him.

Ps- gotta get the name of that dealer that he got the 2003 from. He was able to work a pretty decent deal for the current bike, and a new(er?) FJR after the rally.
