This is a really nice ride for me coming up through Ramona, past Lake Henshaw, past Warner Springs, through Anza and past Lake Hemet, and then finally up into Idyllwild. I want to do it on my FJR while the weather is still nice. I just took my wife up there this past Saturday for her birthday in our car for breakfast at the Idyllwild Cafe and to let her shop around the local shops.

Mapquest lists my ride at: 2 hours, 35 minutes Total Est. Distance: 109.91 miles

I'm hoping to leave my house in El Cajon around 0600 and that means I should be in Idyllwild around 0830 or 0900. I might head home west on the 74 through Hemet and the just take the 215/15 but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I figured I'd post in case anyone was interested.

Oh, here's a link: https://www.idyllwild.com/

Hey I may join you! My daughter has been wanting to go to Idyllwild to check out the rock climbing. Will email later in the week if we can make it (previous plans we'll need to shuffle around).

Cool deal man.

I'm thinking about taking the 243 down from Idyllwild to Banning and then the 10 through Beaumont to the 79 and back to the 74 and I can just head back the way I came. Seems like a really nice loop.

Just checked the weather and it should be sunny and cool all day, perfect riding weather.

Well, I'm planning on leaving at 0630 to 0700 tomorrow, and that should put be at the Idyllwild Cafe around 0930 to 1000. If any of you are up there, stop by, maybe we can ride around after breakfast.

Btw, my real name is Flint.

I had a great ride yesterday. I ended up taking the 243 down to Banner then going through Palm Springs and taking the 74 back up. Both really are excellent roads. I loved that Winding Road sign for the next 22 miles on the 243. Both the roads are well maintained and were in excellent condition. Anyway my trip was for 310 miles and I had a blast.

I’m thinking of doing Big Bear next, anyone ride that lately?

I live in San Jacinto, adjacent to Hemet. I'd be up for the Big Bear ride if you guys are interested. The back way up 79 through Oak Glen, then up the hill on the east side is really a neat ride. Early morning, not much traffic. Th other routes up are a lot more popular and traveled. The back way is up the hill, down the hill and then back up the hill again. Great views, and many options from top. Send a pm and we can arrange to meet somewhere. And next time you want to do that loop, let me know. I ride it alot. Try breakfast at the Paradise Cafe next time. Hwy 371 and 74. The American-2 eggs, 2 bacon, home fries and toast, $5.00. Great food.

Let me know.

Bob

Cool, I look you up. This weekend is shot as well though because of work. I need to hit that damn lotto.
