It's a phenomenon known as 'satellite shift' - the gps drops a 'edge' satellite, and picks up a new one, the math gets a bit funky for a few milliseconds, and viola', you've just hit mach 1.6.

This summer a guy took the fairings off a Hayabusa, did some engine work, and ran it at Maxton, NC at the East Coast Timing Association. He took the record in the Naked bike category with a run of about 245 mph. No GPS though.

Hum.. I haven't seen Jody or Trillium in a while, wonder if it was him?

Edit: Nope, but Trillium regained her title at 239mph! WOOT! Trillium rocks!

Mine reads 144 and that was just trying to get away from ngarider at EOM!! :lol:
