Why does the status of my zipper have anything to do with it, puddin?
And what do you do with him when you catch him?

It's a phenomenon known as 'satellite shift' - the gps drops a 'edge' satellite, and picks up a new one, the math gets a bit funky for a few milliseconds, and viola', you've just hit mach 1.6.
Allright, I'm callin' BS on this one!

It's a little known physiological anomaly peculiar to motorcycle riders called "High Speed Amnesia".

Basically your body goes at such a high rate of speed that the recollection that you went that fast never has a chance to catch up and make neural connections in the hippocampus....therefore - No Memory!

Trust me....I'm a doctor. :winksmiley: :winksmiley:

Satelite shift sounds like a reasonable explanation.

I have my Garmin mounted where it is much more convenient to watch my speed on the gps than to look down to the speedometer gauge. On my way home from WFO in 2007 I came out from under a bridge somewhere in the southwest and noticed that I was going well over 100 mph. I don't reemember the exact number. Well, I know the FJR is able to do that, but I sure wasn't traveling that fast at that time. It took a second or two to readjust itself back to displaying a more believable speed.
