So I had previously changed out the ignition switch as part of the official recall, IAW Yamaha Tech Bulletin M2009-002R, almost 7 years and 85K miles ago. I've been getting the Code 19 Error more and more frequently over the last few months. At first a shot of contact cleaner into the bottom weep hole cleared it up for a while. This past week I was getting it almost every day. It would clear with several cycles of the ignition switch.

I had recently picked up a new OEM switch off of ebay for about $55. I changed it out yesterday. Since I had done it once before, I knew what was involved. I picked up some new cobalt drill bits and decided to install cap screws instead of the security bolts, just in case I ever have to do this again. Wish I had done that the last time, but I didn't figure I'd be doing it again.

Today, I drilled out the security bolts on the bottom of the switch to take a look at the contacts. Found some corrosion on two of the four contacts. Posted some pics are below in case anyone was curious about the change or the switch. I think Brodie posted pics of switch internals when this issue first reared its ugly head.

To add to the fun, when I went o put the bike up on the centerstand, it was leaned over to the right with both stand feet contacting the ground, before I pulled it up. Took and look and the stand is bent, with corrosion at the right side weld. The whole thing seems flexible and ready to let go. So I found one off an '07 on ebay and its on its way. Have to take a look at the stand swap, as I know its a PITA, to say the least.

Switch opened up.

I'll have to check, as I don't recall off the top of my head. I just took the new security bolts to the hardware store and matched up some stainless cap screws.

I've looked all over trying to get the bolt size to replace the tamper resistant ones and I can't find it. I can just take the ones I pull out but I'd like to get them before.
