Leaving Frisco on Thursday, August 18th. Arriving Fullerton on Saturday, August 20. Turning back into FJRChik en route!! Been waiting since 2008 to make this happen, so this girly is pretty happy right now.

Not likely, but I'll miss you! ;)

I don't think I'll admit to formerly living in Texas out there. I wanna get along.

Michelle,

Having lived in Wichita Falls and just outside San Fran, I promise that there is no good barbecue to be found anywhere in Cali. I'm just sayin'!

Anyway, best of luck with your new endeavor!

Thanks Jim and Skooter. It's been a long time coming and the relief that it's finally here is immense. I can't wait to ride all over the West, I'm so in love with it.

I do believe I heard Hwy 49 and 89 up in the Sierra's calling your name last Saturday morning. Congrats on your return, we need your tax dollars more than Texas does

Welcome to the hood :D

If you need anything at all down here dont hesitate to contact me (I can PM my phone number if you want). Fullerton is only a few miles down the road from me in Corona. My wife will totally be excited to have another female to ride with.

I've never been to Fullerton but I've been to Anaheim and liked that so I figured it'll be alright. I'll be over between Cal State and Brea. I only signed a 9 month lease in case I just can't handle the pool that is right in front of my apartment. :D

49 and 89 look good! I'll have to hit them when I go visit family in Reno.

Niehart - you have no idea. Several big things just came outta nowhere to make this so easy, I'd be an idiot not to go. Gotta love it.

ynotride - message to come. Looking forward to hanging out and riding!

I spent 6 happy years in Fullerton getting my 4 year degree from CSF. Gets kinda hot in the summer as I recall, though probably nothin' compared to Texas! I remember getting great big sloppy burgers at a place called (of all things) Bill's Burgers near the corner of Raymond and Chapman. Probably been through 7 different owners since I was there in 1986 but maybe its still worth a try.

bill, i'm sorry i hit the wrong button there, didn't mean to turn it red. i have no idea what i just did. sorry!!! can't see how to undo it. i'm sorry i'm ruining your reputation, lol! yeah brunch sounds great!

Glad to hear all these good things about Fullerton. And glad I'm not homeless. ;)

I was born in St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton on Harbor Blvd. Grew up not 15 minutes from there in La Habra Heights at the end of Euclid St. Still have some of my family right there, too. Been a long time for me, though. After leaving there a little more than 25 years ago, I find it virtually impossible to steer any kind of vehicle towards SoCal. If family wants to see me, they can come up to our little corner of paradise here on the coast!

You gotta hit Angello & Vinci's Restaurant on Harbor Blvd. in the old downtown area. It was an old theater in the way back. I hear it's still there and still great but they had an Oil & Romano Pizza that was the most incredible thing. I have darned near flown down to Fullerton Airport to catch a cab over to get one numerous times but the desire still doesn't outweigh that SoCal visit thing! :lol2:

Good luck, and when you're ready to ride some of the coolest roads in California, come on uphill 3.5 hours north to San Luis Obispo County. We'll ride and have some of the best BBQ that flapsup could ever imagine!

I know how you feel. When my wife (girlfriend then) moved from Minnesota to Oregon we felt the same way.

Tree Doc - I spent several days around that area over Mem weekend and yeah, I'm excited to ride around there after I get settled. I have several friends around there and in Santa Maria so I know I'll be around there plenty. I'm really looking forward to meeting a bunch of Cali riders that I don't know yet! And yeah, I've heard about BBQ up there, can't wait to try it. I saw it being cooked on TWN's memorial ride near Santa Barbara. And thanks for the hints on Fullerton, I'll check it out.
